Pear Cinnamon Oatmeal Crisps

Pear Crisps with Oatmeal and Cinnamon Topped with Ice Cream or Whipped Cream
The scent of pears combined with cinnamon is delightful and very calming. The pear crisps are crunchy and tender, have a sweet warm flavor, and are made with natural honey flavored sweetener . This desert will make your house feel very cozy and inviting.
 

 

Ingredients for the Pear Topping

  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup Mama Healthy® Honey Crystals
  • 5 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Low fat vanilla ice cream or light whipped cream (optional)

 

 

Ingredients for the Pear Filling

  • 5 large pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cups of Mama Healthy Honey Crystals
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch

 

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Cut the pears into four pieces and take out the core.
  3. To make the topping, blend the flour, butter, oats, Honey Crystals, and salt.
  4. Blend the topping until the mixture starts to hold together, then set the topping aside.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the pears, lemon juice, vanilla, honey crystals, cinnamon and the cornstarch.
  6. Pour pear mixture into a baking dish or individual dishes. Place the topping over the pears.
  7. Bake the pear crisp for 1 hour 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the pears are tender.
  8. Pears crips are best when they are serve warm or at room temperature.
  9. Top with ice cream or whipped cream (optional).
