Pear Cinnamon Oatmeal Crisps
The scent of pears combined with cinnamon is delightful and very calming. The pear crisps are crunchy and tender, have a sweet warm flavor, and are made with natural honey flavored sweetener . This desert will make your house feel very cozy and inviting.
Ingredients for the Pear Topping
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/2 cup Mama Healthy® Honey Crystals
- 5 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Low fat vanilla ice cream or light whipped cream (optional)
Ingredients for the Pear Filling
- 5 large pears (Bosc or Bartlett)
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 1/3 cups of Mama Healthy Honey Crystals
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 4 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
- Cut the pears into four pieces and take out the core.
- To make the topping, blend the flour, butter, oats, Honey Crystals, and salt.
- Blend the topping until the mixture starts to hold together, then set the topping aside.
- In a large bowl, mix the pears, lemon juice, vanilla, honey crystals, cinnamon and the cornstarch.
- Pour pear mixture into a baking dish or individual dishes. Place the topping over the pears.
- Bake the pear crisp for 1 hour 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the pears are tender.
- Pears crips are best when they are serve warm or at room temperature.
- Top with ice cream or whipped cream (optional).
